The Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum Grand Touring All-Season tire was conceived specifically for North American drivers and road conditions and designed to place its performance among product category leaders. To find out just how well Kumho hit their mark, the Tire Rack team compared the Ecsta LX Platinum with three of the top contenders in the Grand Touring All-Season category — a category of tires that blends a performance tires appearance with a passenger tires smooth, quiet ride capable of providing year-round traction.

  • @yellowmusicfreak Our company cars were recently fitted with Ling Longs from China. It took me 50M to come to a complete stop from 60KM/H during emergency braking in the wet. They may be cheap, they may look good but don't think that they will offer you anything else.

  • I just got the Escsta LX Platinum and they smoooooooth and quiet. They handle pretty good for an All Season tire too, not exactly Toyo Proxys but I drive an Altima and would blow out all my struts if I tried to drive "spirited" anyhow. :)

  • @yellowmusicfreak

Thats a load of bullshit. Goodyear, BFGoodrich are US made and there are tons of other non-chinese made tires out there. There is an old saying: You get what you paid for.

  • My 07 Charger RT has Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires and they are great. Lots of traction even when you really get on them. Will definitely buy again,

  • I can't even imagine how incredibly pointless this test seems, they're all so close, I'll take the one that's friendliest to my wallet, long before scrutinizing miniscule differences in "ride comfort", etc. I'm not that picky, I bought an entire new set of Chinese(where most brand name tires originate anyway) 225/40/18s for $390 shipped to my door. And they even look twice as nice as any of these.People get so hung up on things they wouldn't likely even notice...

  • I got the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires, they weren't cheap for my Mazda, but they are decent. I am getting an extra 30-40 miles per tank.

  • Just purchased the Michelin Primacy MXV4. Living in Southern California, wet roads isn't much of an issue. Handling and comfort are great. Michelin definitely has my business.

  • I'm seriously considering replacing the OEM tires on my 2006 Mercury Milan Premier 2.3 with P225/50R17 Bridgestone Turanza Serenity
