@Tequella18 It's quite simple. If you just take a certain number of cards away from the pack, and remember the bottom card, then when he puts it on the top of the pack the card's position is 13 minus *number of cards removed*. This is why you have to put them anticlockwise, because the number of cards you removed will then correspond to a position on the clock, which will always be their card.
