How to Install Windows XP Part 1 of 2

Part 1 of 2 The basic steps to programming a new hard drive for novices to learn. How to install windows XP operating system software and drivers using technology as of 12th October 2009. I run through booting from the XP disc, creating the partition and through some installation screens, I briefly explain NTFS and a few windows problems that can be caused by using incorrect discs with licenses. This is a first time start up of this system.

pls help me i installed windows xp on 40 gb hard drive i changed 20 gb hard drive but now when computer restarts and normal windows xp starting thing pops there coming: UNMOUTABLE_HARDDRIVE Something tht and then i did it with the 20 gb same again then i tryed to install xp on my 320 gb drive its secondary drive on harddrives PLS HELP MEE I SUBBED U MAN

@IH8LifesSucks not quite sure what you mean but sounds like something is stuffed. IDE or SATA drives? Master/slave jumpers correct if IDE? you should see the drives listed in the BIOS if they are connected correctly and working.

i get to the part where it tells me that its copying files and it restarts and it i keep repeating the same steps over and over

@THSO360mods Did you do a clean install, are you using the correct license key. Have you tested the hard drive for any malfunction. Is the RAM OK, have you tested that.

windows 7 came out 10 days after this was uploaded, im just wondering why didn't you get it?

@electronicman88 This was for a business running an existing XP network, just keeping it the same.

Exactly how long can it take for WIN XP to format while setup? I've been waiting 30 minutes at the "setup is formatting" screen and I hear nothing but the fan form the laptop. I partitioned the HD and clicked on NFTS quick setup. The new HD is 320 GB.

i have windows 7 and i want windows xp,when i go to bios and select boot device 1:cd/dvd,boot device 2:sata-Dm-hdd....and i put cd of xp sp3 and the setup wont start?
