  • @gelliebellieful A failure, huh? One, you are comparing a Shotokan Karate specialist to Wing Chun specialists. Two, you probably know NOTHING about the JKD philosophies that Bruce Lee emphasized on. Three, you most likely have no background on martial arts whatsoever and still have the guts to call a JKA instructor a "failure". I have absolutely no authority to limit what you want to say, but I advise you to think before you embarrass yourself and disrespect Asai and the JKA.

  • @gtisthebest247 sorry you dont know what you are talking about,Karate is about developing mind and spirit and self defence of others its not about winning its about self preservation.,real karate contains all the elements of fighting throwing grappling, tactics weapons,in the end its not the style that wins its the man, sport Karate is something else maybe thats what you are comparing wrestling with,

an experience karateka with the will to survive would not be easy to be defeated

  • @xDavidlol I'm confused...where did I state that "Karate is not the way of the empty hands, and uses weapons"?

  • I have never studied in karate, I have done taekwondo, kung fu, and capoeira along with basic training in plenty of styles via people who studied them. I follow more practical styles, kung fu was to train physically also it has some pretty good stuff, it was fun though. Kung Fu is effective and taekwondo I did specifically was effective. But I know plenty of martial artists, and there are a lot of shit everywhere, even in styles that are thought superior. I have a strong karate friend, very

  • @xDavidlol If you are karate you should learn tonfa, that is what karate practitioners typically use.

  • @asianprideyeex2 Didn't read what they said but you know Bruce Lee studied Wing Chun, JKD is the style he made.

  • a true master. oss. respect.

  • In fact i do not train sport karate at all, but shotokai, my master refuses any competition and he really know what he does since he has dedicated his life to it.

But I´ll acept everything else you said because ill admit that i never asked my master about weapons, i assumed there were none because we never used one, well we use the bo thats all

  • @xDavidlol you need to look at your history, all karate systems used weapons at one time ,even funakoshi, those that dont now, have not been taught their teachers probably didnt know, empty hand is nothing to do with the fact you dont have a weapon.

what some of you guy who are knocking karate, forget that all karate systems did at one time use throwing, locks, aremi mine certainly does, fights are not won in the ring fighting for real is totally different to sport Karate,

  • @BushidoCode72 I'm not typing this to be a smart guy or anything. Just to say that if all you've seen of karate is from your local dojos and it looks like crap, it probably is. BUT, that's just because they're not REAL karate. It's not so world famous for nothing. You just have to know where to look, and sometimes that can be pretty hard with all the shit out there.

Again, i'm not trying to be confrontational here, just trying to inform you.

  • @BushidoCode72 stances are ONLY used for the moment of impact. and that impact is famously deadly. in Shotokan, we practice to get to a level of "Ikken Hisatsu", or "to kill with one strike". And Shotokan in particular is famous for its incredibly explosive speed and power.

I've met and trained with REAL Shotokan masters, and they're fucking scary. they could kill you as fast as you can blink.

    I'
