  • Sounds great except the skinny little pick you're using; it doesn't coax all of the sound from the LSV. Get a bluegrass picker to let loose on it with a thick (perhaps tortoise) pick.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks for the positive comments. We are preparing several new Martin demos that will be featuring bluegrass. And yes they will be played with a tortoise shell pick! Keep an eye out for these as they will be posted soon.

  • isn't this guy drake from Drake & Josh?!

  • No.

  • yeah that's Drake I think...

  • Again, no that is incorrect.

  • @MorrellMusic To follow up, on what I said. This is a HD-28 LSV,and on the HD-28. I seen the same crap on 2 of the most popular Bluegrass guitars. Please if you do a D-28 Clarence White, and you let this shit be done on it. You should go out of business. The only Bluegrass picker I seen you guys use. Was on the Blueridge BR-160. That is great sounding guitar. Where are the Martins getting the same Justice? These guys you have suck. They don't deserve to hold a Martin in their hands.

  • @fodera6 LOL until you use your Gibson for Bluegrass and it can't be heard.

  • @themaninme I know it has been a year since you posted this comment. You are high to say this. Gibson are the most tinny, thin, muddiest sounding guitar made. Maybe you just don't know how to flat pick. I know from your comment you can't pick Bluegrass. LOL Martins aren't muddy and thin. Lets see your so call Gibson cut through a mix. With a banjo, mandolin, and dobro. You don't know what deep driving power means do you? Your junk Gibson won't be heard at all even in a mic.

  • @MorrellMusic Well it has been 2years now. where are these Bluegrass pickers?

  • Wish he'd pick a fiddle tune, too. Can't tell the real qualitys of that guitar by strumming alone.

  • The song he plays is really catching. I love it!

  • doesn't the larger soundhole increase treble, and/or decrease bass response?

I think the original C.F. Martin was fanatical about specific sound hole sizes, varying by 1/16" of an inch depending on body style.

  • I had one for several years. Great bluegrass guitar. Not very versatile but I loved that thing. Kinda wish I still had it but the J-45 I have right now is incredibly versatile and is all the guitar I need.

  • @gitrpicker

as much and I love martins and own an HD28 myself. they always sound thin when recoded . unless you're in a studio and have the proper recording gear. a thick pick woud stil sound thin but also muddy on the video.

thats maybe the only down side of Martins.

On Gibsons you can actually get a good recording sound even through a cellphone cam,

  • guy....the demos are to listen the instrument...so, don't talk all the time, let the people listen to it alright???
