  • Has David sold everything in his collection? Is the gallery still running? Has he stopped being an archivist? Just seems odd to sell off everything in a collection...

  • Hey there! He hasn't sold everything in his collection, but most of it. The new gallery along I-69 that you saw at the end of the video is closed down, but David still runs the James Dean gift shop in Fairmount. When he had to sell everything, he sent out a news letter to the fan club saying that he had no regrets, and he was happy to own the collection for the thirty years that he did.

  • Hey there! Yeah, they were auctioned off in Texas in October 2006, along with most of David's other possessions. What's really sad is that he sold almost everything you saw in that video. I'm not sure where any of it is now.

  • Visited the original gallery in Fairmount IN. Went to the Winslow hoouse where we spoke the Marcus, Jimmy's cousin. He let us walk around the property and take picture. He talked to us for a good 1/2 hour and invited us to eat lunch with him and his wife. The nicest people you would ever want to meet. Met Adeline Nall before she passed and also met Marvin Carters widow from the indian motorcycle dealer down the street. All great people who treate us like family!

  • @elvampiro89 It's hard not to LOOOOVE Jimmy. :o)

  • @ersecy Hi, I am a brand new James Dean fan and am reading a biography on him. I have never read about someone that I so identify with in so many ways. I plan on visiting Fairmount soon. Do you know if they have actually torn the old school down yet? If not, did you get to see it? I wish it could be saved. It such a big piece of JD history.

  • I had the chance to visit original museum in Fairmont. I loved ever second that I was there. I obtained a brick from the High School he attended. I'm sorry I did not make it to the new museum before closing. Visited the grave site of both James and his mother.
