@HPoelzig - My response is, that they ought to talk to their staff geologists, and ask them if they've seen any buckling or folding of sedimentary crust on earth and Mars. And if that means that earth and Mars are shrinking as well. In fact, as they look at the mountains of earth, which is certainly buckling and folding, do they actually interpret that as earth shrinking MASSIVELY?

@MegaLink117 Sorry friend but there is no observable subduction under west coast. If that were true of the rockies which are many miles from the coast it would be true of the appalachians, nothing is subducting underneath the East coast either but there IS spreading from the midatlantic rift-according to PT the entire Pacific plate is subducting under a tiny part of asias east coast it just isnt happening-you must unlearn what you have learned-Yoda

The Rockies were formed from the subducting pacific plate under the NA plate causing a folding effect on the continent. The Andes Mountains were formed from volcanism and uplift created by the collision of the Nazca plate with the South American plate. iron core might have been a gross understatement on my part, its realy a dynamo of radioactive decay within an outer core and inner core. but please as men of science we must be civil ok, no need to swear

@nealadamsdotcom i'm sorry but planets don't just gain material from nothing like your suggesting if mars did grow it would require the collision with an other celestial body to gain the mass for it to grow. and that collision would leave tons of evidence and the only evidence your giving is just eye balling that the plates fit together. Matter cannot be created or destroyed so I just put a huge hole in your logic.

Before I briefly answer, I suggest you hurry back to the cat fart videos that you are clearly accustomed to, and avoid the company for thinking adults, before you are made deaf by their laughter.
