Why is Clive James still not on tv, he's a great interviewer, intelligent, witty and most importantly he lets his guests speak. Too many of today's chat show hosts think that because their name is in the title of the show that they're the stars, well your not the guests are

Kind of hard to 'puzzle the audience with who Spike is', when his quips have you laughing helplessly.

@hsd628 *sigh* It's "I told you I was Ill" and it doesn't as his Irish roots wouldn't alow it, so it's conveerted into Galic.

a dream guest for a chat show host. He did all the work.

@tangent272 I didn't get the Goon Show at first when I heard it either. It takes some getting used to. I had to listen to maybe four or five or six episodes before I got it, so I urge you to keep listening and eventually you WILL get it, and love it. It takes time.

That tiger story sounds exactly like an Eccles line! It all makes sense now.

Do we not all love the man because we have such a great affinity with him?

SPIKE WAS AND THE SECOND COMING!!! If Jesus Christ as the son of God - the Lord of Heaven was not SPIKE - then I am not fucking going!!!

a very gentle man . sorely missed. i make sure some of my poems dont rhyme in memoury of the the funniest man ever
I love the singer she was the best part of Clive's show.
Getting Spike'sGoons humour has little to do with any generation gap its simply a matter of our sense of humour. We are all unique individuals each having a different sense of fun, what tickles my funny bone might not tickle yours

Where is this scientific proof that "old folks progressively lose their sence [sic] of humor as they age" ?
