Another scene clipped together from various adaptations of "Pride & Prejudice"...this is right at the start of all three versions when Mrs. Bennet is telling Mr. Bennet about Mr. Bingley's arrival in the neighbor and is trying to get her husband to visit Bingley.

The most recent film is the 2005 Focus Features version starring Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Brenda Blethyn and Donald Sutherland as her parents.

The 1995 BBC/A&E Production stars Jennifer Ehle, with Alison Steadman and Benjamin Whitrow as her parents.

And in the 1940 MGM version which features Mary Boland and Edmund Gwenn as the Bennets.

Hope all the fans of each version enjoy the way I've clipped them together!

  • Great job!

Thank you for such interesting scenes. Can't wait for another one.

  • Thanks and you're welcome. I haven't decided which scene to do next...any requests? :)

  • Maybe Mr Collins' proposal

I just didn't watch 1940 version and don't know Was in it that scene or not

  • Excellent suggestion! It's in there, and it's quite cute in parts. I may also do one of the Bennets meeting Mr. Collins as it is pretty funny in 1940 too. I'll work on them and get them up here soon. :)

  • 3:40-3:47 xD.

I love Mrs. Bennett in the 1995 version.

  • Sorry to say that, but the "new" Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are nothing compared to the ones from the BBC series!!! They are genius (especially Mr. Bennet)!

  • Does anyone know what the song at 2:44 - 2:48 is called?

  • Mrs Bennet at 3:40!!

Nobody can ply this role better than Alison Steadman!!! (I hope i wrote her name right...)

  • The 1940 version is pretty good, but it's definitely least like the book. (Just look at those dresses, completely the wrong era.) The 1995 version is probably the truest to the book. But I have to say the 2005 version is my favorite, the characters are a little more warm and fuzzy, but it by far captures the romantic spirit the best.

  • I have a B in my name with two E's seperated by two N's

  • my name is mrs... BENNET

  • Ugh, BENNET

  • @LivingDG not really if anything she was being a good mother. If none of her daughters married someone wealthy they'd suffer because they have no brother to look after them and the law was that daughters didn't inherit their fathers land unless they were aristocracy.

  • nothing can beat BBC in this kind of drama. Hollywood should stick to the same stories they do so well in selling

  • Mrs.Bennet in the 1995 version... overacting much?

  • the first propose ?? T_T wiil be nice. pls
