@BohemianFish It's a 102. The intakes are much farther forward on a 102 than they are on a 106. It's a shame we use our own retired planes for target practice. We should buy a bunch of retired MiGs and shoot them down. They aren't that difficult to get.

That's what I call a suppository hit.

Way to blow away the classic convair with some crappy dime a dozen f-15.

@killingamps the plane it hit was an old fighter converted to a target drone, you can tell by the orange tail.

B4 I saw this was RC ,I was thinking - How did they get the pilot of the shot plane to sit still for filming while he was getting blown out of the sky Lol!!!!

Convair Delta Dart? Or Dagger? Can anybody confirm what the target plane was?

It's a Convait QF-102 an all weather interceptor. The Convair F-102 Delta Dagger was developed from the XF-92 delta-wing research aircraft. The U.S. Air Force requirement called for an interceptor that could intercept projected Russian intercontinental bombers. The prototype first flew in 1953.
A two-seat side-by-side trainer, the TF-102 was built retaining full operational capability. About 1,000 F-102 and TF-102 Delta Daggers were built.
