This is possible, but i prefer to make a group of arcs and than use FORM CONTOURS TOOL ;-)

Stop using this archaic technique, and stop creating ugly shapes with it. Get the Fredo plugins, makes life much easier.

The music itself is kinda cool but the lack of narration doesn't qualify this as a tutorial. It's a very cool complex shape but I can't tell what exactly you're doing.

It's just an answer video to a french guy on sketchup community forum asking : How could I do that and posting a skp file with the starting shape.
Ehe concept is very simple : Pushpull and scale and you can achieve complex mesh with this technique.
