I could be wrong so correct me if I am. If there are seven tones or notes in a major scale the sixth would be the relative minor.

this is not the true meaning of a relative minor & major..
such a loser.. didn't study appropriately & teaching it wrong to others..
basically, F# is not the relative minor of A, rather it's E..
because E is basically a domain that you can truly related to A..
