@PukkPukk for one, you shouldn't be spending twice the money you have. that is NOT how you use credit. secondly, if you use your credit card like a debit card and pay in full, you won't be charged fees... you may even earn rewards. re: the credit limit increases, credit card companies do this automatically sometimes to reward their customers. doesn't mean you HAVE to use it, but it helps your credit score when you have a low balance on a high limit card. educate yourself about money.
American Express also jacks up your credit limit on you without your authorization so you can continue your spiral into debt. I called them today to ask about how this happens and the customer service was not able to answer this question. They wanted me to speak to their credit service on the east coast. Sorry I live in Hawaii and that is a bit inconvenient and for the other cardholders in other timezones. Again cardholders loose and American express wins. I will be canceling mine.
No this card and any credit card these days is a bullet to your financial stability. I am sure that after all the hidden fees and smacks with the interest rates Costco card members will loose out big time. First we have a bank account, which we pay out to use our hard earned money. Then double that with a credit card, you will pay twice to use your hard earned money. You loose, credit card companies win.

Jason, since you represent a credit card website, your review and use of the words "costco credit card" violates their TOS.

I wonder if you're one who had your limit reduced or card cancelled with no warning.

BP Visa gives you 5% cash back on gas. As does my Marathon Master Card
Most Visa/MC cards double warranties too.
I just really hate AMEX.
