like behkiana said, criminals are gonna get guns whether theres a gun registry or not... so they might as well let us responsible citizens have an easier means of protecting ourselves from those criminals (and not to mention hunting and all the other benifits of owning a gun). its a wait of the governments time and money (and ours!)

How the hell is a long gun registry going to make the streets safer? Pistols are used in domestic violence, not rifles and shotguns! The Registry is a waste of money, and criminals don't get licenses for their weapons. They go about illegal channels to acquire their weapons. People should learn more about the people that actually use weapons properly. Crack down on the criminals, not the people that obey the law.
