it uses those "feelers" also known as spines or tube feet to move around and move prey (algae) into its mouth. just be kind to the dollar, the don't exactly have a central nervous system so they can't feel pain but just be careful!

I actually feel kinda bad, because not only did I poke it, but I also kept on picking it up... It had a lot of tiny hairs/feelers on the bottom of it, and I think I squished a few... :(
