The city of Alpine has acquired some new art but they didn't pay for it and city leaders say they don't want it.
For months, graffiti in downtown alpine has been steadily increasing.
The taggers are targeting downtown buildings and dumpsters.
City officials say they don't believe there are gangs in Alpine. Simply wannabes.
But lawyer Rod Ponton says things are about to change. Council members are getting ready to crack down on those who graffiti.
Ponton says there are already state laws to prevent graffiti. They just want to take it a step further.
City council members expect to meet next month to hammer out details regarding the new graffiti ordinance.
