Steve and Betsy Conrad present the life of General E.R.S. Canby of Piatt's Landing in Boone County, Kentucky. Canby was born in Piatt's Landing, Kentucky, to Israel T. and Elizabeth (Piatt) Canby on November 9, 1817. He was a US Army officer and a Union Major General during the Civil War and also served during the Indian Wars. Canby died during a diplomatic mission to the Modoc Indians on April 11, 1873 near Tule Lake, California.
