  • Hello, would you recommend the Planet Wave for Taylors?

  • @blahhxblah Yes, I would…The Planet Wave is my humidifier of choice. -Doug

  • Hey dude,

I'v got that same planet waves humidifier but I leave it in my guitar when it's on it's stand... do I have to put it back in the case?

  • @GamerFreak186 I think it is best to have the guitar in its case whenever you are not playing it. The humidifier will work much more efficiently if the guitar is kept in the case. -- Doug

  • Hey doug, how long would you recommend I leave the humidifier in the case for?

  • I recommend keeping your humidifier in any time you are not playing the guitar, especially this time of year when the furnaces are running. Also, a friendly reminder...always have your guitar in its case when you are not playing it. Keep rockin along!!

  • I was just wondering if the case would have to be hard shell, because i have 2 guitars and i have 2 different cases, one hard shell, and the other is soft, and I would like to be able to have both in my cases with a humidifier.

  • Hey I have the planet waves humidifier and I was wondering, is it going to mess up the strings somewhat because its stretching it out?

  • Nice, simple, friendly advice - keep it up, Doug!

  • We need to humidify year round if we use an air conditioner in the summer. It is June right now and in my house it is 76 degrees and the humidity is 33%. It needs to be 50%. If the humidity goes over 50% I take them out, but many people don't realize that the humidity can get pretty low in the summer if your AC is on. Just food for thought.

  • how offten do you want to do this

  • When guitar is dry the strings are lower not higher.

  • Doug,

Thanks for making a video about guitar humidifiers. I just recently purchased myself a Gibson J-200 Standard (brand new) and I'm extremely paranoid about the humidity and temperature. I got one of those Oasis Guitar Humidifiers, what are your thoughts on those ones? They run for $20 roughly. Also what about the temperature? If I were to have a instrument room at what temperature and humidity should the room be at?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello, quick q. does this hold true to electric guitars as well? Any info on how to control the humidity in that situation would be appreciated. Also, if one isn't playing an electric guitar, how should they store it? Thanks.

  • what if it's an electroacoustic?

  • distilled water, can we just use tap?

im planning on purchasing a Taylor and am new to the whole guitar humidifer so im trying to find information because i do want to take care of it.
