only our guide was experienced, we 2 have never done any ice climbing (or much climbing at all )
but thanks for thinking we were.

Oh okay that makes sense. I just assumed you were experienced since you didn't make the typical rookie mistake of repeatedly kicking or swinging your points in. I did think it odd that nobody seemed to test their placements...now I know why...enlightening :)
