Repair of a video8 samsung SCA30 camcorder, won't power on due to bad capacitors.

Ended up picking this camcorder on ebay cheap due to no bids and won't power on. But ended up fixing it, won't power on due to bad capacitors which is a common problem with these camcorders from this era, You can find Solid state which are better then electrolytic capacitor with the same ESR rating thru "Digikey electronics".

i have a sony video 8 that hasnt been used for uver 12 years and it seems to work fine but it tuens off randomly at sertion periods of time. Any advice?

Going to need to change all the electrolytic capacitor, the earlier all black Sony's are known for using a bad batch of electrolytic capacitor's. Plus it was sitting for 12 years electrolytic go bad after two years of sitting and not being turn on, that why you sure always power it on and run it for at least a few minutes, every 6 months any electronic device.
