My thoughts on the sports mode on this camera. I haven't had the most wonderful experience with sports mode but it does the job in well lit conditions.

I would most likely prefer to use the camera on manual with a fast shutter speedor Burst mode so if you are familiar with manual settings, this may give you a nicer result :)

  • You couldn't tell us please how long the battery lasts in video mode with constant use i.e recording max length possible (30 mins in Europe) videos one after another?

  • @anygoodatdancin The battery life is pretty decent. I find that if I am using my camera very heavily during a day of photography I don't need to charge it so I'd imagine that video will probably last you a good while. I don't really use the camera for filming to give you an accurate idea of time.

I took pictures and videos at an event and the battery lasted a good three hours. I took about 200 pics, about 5 mins of normal video and several slow mo clips and the batt lasted with lots to spare.

  • set the camera to "TV" mode and it will take clear still pictures and the flash works as well if you haven't figured out how to get them clear hopefully this helps greats vids helped me a lot with this camera :)

  • @darrelwaynegsell I agree with you Tv mode is definitely a lot more successful with fast shots. I left that one to a little later as not everyone understands aspects like shutter speed straight away so I introduced Tv a little later :) Good to know you have had success with it though, I never get a chance to do sports photography unfortunately.

  • Does it have a live histogram?

  • @Zammy7140 You can use the histogram if you change the display to show more info. It works in TV, AV, P and M.

  • I just bought the camera today and then found your tutorials here. I'm enjoying them, thank you. My last camera was the the S5 IS. The screen on the revolving back just quit on me one day. It still lights up, but I don't get any image, just all white, so I have been just using the eye piece viewer for about 6 months. Anyways so the basics of the camera I'm used to, but I'm appreciating your "update coaching" so to say, from the S5 IS to the SX40 HS,, now ,,, on to your next video

  • @darrelwaynegsell oh thank, and have you ever shopped at amazon? And is it trustworthy? I haven't tried to shop at amazon yet.

  • @xcharmaineee I've only seen filters for them and a widescreen lens no fisheye yet if you go on amazon.com and just type in the camera name and browse through you will see hopefully this helps ya!

  • @EngThabet My pleasure :)
