He makes the overtake immediately before some narrow corners, hangs on well enough along the straight but inevitably is unable to hold his lead through the next set of corners.

  • That's one kick-ass front light! What is it?

  • @xchopp

I have 3 front lights and 4 rear lights.

Front lights are Cateye El530 Power Opticube and Hl-el120 and 1 Diode Sport Opticube both bar mounted with a Blackburn Flea on my helmet. I think it was the Flea that caught your attention - it catches most people's anyway! ;)

At the rear I have a Cateye Tl-ld600 5 Diode on my rack, with a Blackburn Flea on my top box and 2 Electron EHP251 Backupz Seat Post Rear Lights on my helmet. If I have more bags on the rack, they'll have lights too.

  • @kmcyc So the Flea is the one that's doing the flashing that we can see in the vehicles in front of you?

  • @xchopp

Yeah, that's the brightest. It's a USB rechargeable too but only lasts about 2 hours per charge, so I have to charge it every other day during the depths of winter, or every day if I have to get in early.

  • lol i thought this was a re-upload, but no... there are multiple pillocks in this world

  • @ithinksasukeiscool

LOL, yeah, there are unfortunately. It was odd to find two of them on consecutive evenings on almost exactly the same piece of road though!

A temporary change to my route, unlikely to be needed now the clocks have changed. I've been going this way as it allows me a place to stop out of the way to swap sunglasses for clear lenses as the light fades about half-way along my 15 mile journey.

Cycles are certainly the fastest on my commute anyway, faster even than the train - and more reliable! :)

That move would have been risky anywhere else and I only attempted it as with my local knowledge I knew there is little more than a couple of car lengths of road to the right.

  • Cycles : The fastest mode of transport since 1900.

At first it looked a it of a risky move at 0.47 for you there. Not quite sure now.
