Hi guys, this is a newer version of a video that I posted earlier (it has been deleted). Thanks to some quick advice from people, I was able to make it better and repost it. Once again, please leave any comments or suggestions.

To download this model into sketchup, go to the Warehouse and search "DJG". That is my sketchup name. The model is entitled "A house" (very original). There should not be many results so finding this one should be quick.

  • does anyone else's sketchup software get really laggy if they build an entire inside and outside of a house?

  • @guitar1195 Your computer has to mathematically render all of the different shapes of the model, and keep track of textures and shadows. When you add a lot of polygons the cpu has a hard time keeping up. If you add more ram or a faster processor you shouldn't have this problem until you build a more complex model.

That's one of the main reasons that movie and special effects companies usually have racks of servers to handle rendering. (it still takes months to render LOTR, for example)

  • Please tell me what it is called the song heard in the video?

  • @atramoreto "How We Do" by Mount Sims. If you want it on one of your videos, Google has it on their audioswap feature.

  • wow nice house! wow! nice inside! nothings there!

  • how do you record like this in google sketchup?

  • @Novica89 Yeah. I see your point. But when I export a model to .3DS and open it in Max or any other program, such as blender, it works perfectly fine.

  • @MegaSuperCritic easy - your gpu! even an i7 pc this day can lag if it lacks the graphic power.

  • @MegaSuperCritic in highschool i was modelling in Pro/Engineer Wildfire 2 and it also lagged to me (back then i had 1200Mhz Pentium 3 and 512 MB of RAM),but that proves it's because of the rig.I was working in 3DS max for a while, but havent actualy made anything so complex that it would start to lag,so i don''t really know about Max.Can't realy answer your question completly lol ,but if it DID lagg cuz of a program, than ALL the people using Sketchup would feel the same, not just you and few other

  • @Novica89 Then please, explain how any other 3D program can easily display the model without any lag?

  • @YouAteMyChips ok,too much computer for you !

  • @MegaSuperCritic Its not the PROGRAM its the computers fault ! Even if you get core i7 and 16 GB of ram or more,it will be laggy after u add a lot of complexity to the models ! todays PCs are not able to render such high poly models, thats why companies that make 3D models pay a lot of money for companies that have powerfull computerS to render it for them

  • very good, But can you show me how you made the stairs?
