Storm in north atlantic on january 2005. On board M/T Cap Diamant, lenght=274m, beam=52m, DWT=160044T. The bridge deck is 28 meter high and the wave was higher than me. The film has been made from the bridge deck so the wave height was about 30m.

  • what latitude do you cross the atlantic at in the winter when leaving Quebec?

  • @burfox We was about 55-60 north during this storm. South of Iceland.

  • last 2 waves must be atleast 90 ft

  • Every 2-3 minutes the waves was this high. About 90-100ft on my estimation. We was lucky that the waves was comming from the aft because from the head, the ship will have get many dammage.

  • Good grief. We don't give the sailors of the 16th and 17th century enough credit for having to put up with this.

  • type "tanker in big storm" by user tomislavseput and you will get a good idea what it must be like head on lol

  • Where was this

  • 2:05 holy shit thats higher than my house

  • this is the captain speeking!: pls fasten your seatbelts!! :DD

  • @7amanyation just because its 30m it doesnt make it a tsunami, do your homework on tsunamis ya plonker

  • it's an exaggeration when u wrote that the waves reached 30m ..

because 30 meters mean tsunami !!

and u saw the waves higher than the ship's bridge because of the ships ship's inclinations..

  • I have my biggest respect to Vikings who sailed in storms like this in their flimsy wooden boats.

  • i know i've posted on here before but this is definatly a top 3 sea storm video on YT

absolute monsters at the end, cool vid djbouc.
