I agree that steroids don't help improve a hitter's swing. They DO improve your fast-twitch muscles which allows the hitters to catch up to faster fastballs and swing harder, which is why during the Steroid Era, you saw grossly inflated numbers and freak-ish longevity.

Steroids don't help mechanics. They build mass. Jason Giambi's swing was manufactured not injected.
