The Boy Scouts of America discriminate against gay and atheist youth and adults.

The case went to the highest court in our land against gay Eagle Scout James Dale's membership and the Boy Scouts of America. On June 28th, 2000, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Boy Scouts of America to discriminate against gay and atheist youth and adults.

Meanwhile, the average pedophile in the United States is a married 34 year-old male with two children, and the Boy Scout of America's headquarters in Texas, knows this fact. For more information see: http://www.scoutingforall.org/

Some notes about religion
Where does the demonizing of gays and atheists come from? Religion. If religion did not say gay was wrong, people would realize that two gay people are simply two people in love.

A perfect god needs nothing.
If a god is perfect, a perfect god needs nothing. A perfect god would not be offended that someone did not believe in him. A perfect God would not be offended if you did not worship him.

Why doesn't religion unite the entire world?
If religion was divine, it would unite everyone, regardless of their belief. Religion divides friends, family and potential partners and can't even unite it's own people. Christians and non-Christians. How the religious love their exclusive clubs.

"God" made man
Start with the premise god made man. There is no answer as to why "God" lacked the ability to inspire a book filled with timeless morals and ethics which could never be misinterpreted by any person, in any culture or time period in human history.

Many men made many "Gods".
Start with the premise that many men made many gods, then the questions about why religious texts are have bad morals and contradictions are apparent. The Bible was written by ancient primitive tribal men, trying to explain the world around them in the culture and science of their day and they got it wrong.

If there is no religion the world will go into chaos.
The world would go into chaos if religion stopped overnight! Really? What happens when young children stop believing in Santa Claus? Nothing. They go on to live productive lives.

Do children then decide to have a moderate belief in Santa Claus? I'll believe in the reindeer and sleigh but not the man? No. They deem it unnecessary to have a moderate belief in Santa Claus.

Why is it important for adults to believe in a celestial invisible friend?

Morals come from people not religion.
Morals and ethics started when people began living together and realized it's easier to live in a society where people get along and help each other than the reverse.

Some repulsive morals of the Bible include slavery, repression of women's rights, genocide, human & animal sacrifice, child mutilation (circumcision), torture and murder.

Examples: If a child curses his parents, the parents can kill their child (Leviticus 20:9). If a woman is found not to be a virgin on her wedding night, her husband can kill her (Deuteronomy 22:20-21).

It's moral in the Bible to do good things for bad reasons. Be good or go to hell. That is a completely immoral teaching of the Bible. You can find many good reasons to do good things.

Science is in the business of discovering the nature of how our world works. Science welcomes new information, criticism and revision. Religion dislikes criticism. Science says think. Religion says believe. Which is the wiser proposition?

  • You see what homophobic people don't understand is this, that being gay is wrong for a straight person, because a straight person is straight. Just as trying to be straight for a gay person is wrong because a gay person is gay and not straight.

If religions did not say that homosexuality was wrong, most people would simply see two gay people as two people in love.

  • If God is all powerful, all wise and just created the universe, then it would have been child's play for this God to have written a book which had timeless morals and ethics which would apply to any culture in any time period of human history which could never be misinterpreted.

Show me the money. The Bible is what one would expect from tribal Middle Eastern bigoted, intolerance ancient men, trying to explain the world around them. The Bible is not one would expect from an all knowing God.

  • When a religious text says that gay is wrong, then their believers say it's wrong. In the Old Testament, Leviticus 20:13 it says that gay is wrong. However, three verses before in Leviticus 20:9 it says that parents can kill their child who curses them.

Believer scoff when this is brought up and say that Lev. 20:9 doesn't apply in today's culture but insist that Lev. 20:13 does. This is called cherry picking the Bible.

  • Who is one of the major funders of the Boy Scouts of America? The Mormon Church. What allows them to have a hatred against gays and atheists? Their religious texts. This is the danger that religious organizations pose to society. Religions allow normally moral people do, act or think in immoral ways and then claim they are being moral.

  • This is a powerful video. Your words, though, detract from your cause. By generalizing your attack to all religions and faiths, you offend potential allies in your cause, create more division, and reveal your own ignorance. The sons of Abraham religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) are among the youngest religions, and they comprise a minority religion worldwide. Only Christians use the Bible. Other religions and faiths are inclusive and tolerant but aren't as naive as believing in Santa.

  • @magicbeet All religions are simply mythology. What are religions? Failed science. What is the better message? That's it's okay to fool ourselves? That's it's okay to join an exclusive club and claim divine origin? Or that we all share the same humanity. We did not have join any "divine" club when we were born, we were born into humanity.

  • The Bible was NOT misenterpreted. The Bible is merely a horrible and prejudiced book anyway!

  • Keep that in mind when you type something without thinking like, "Our butts are not entrances."

  • @BoyScout464 I'm sorry, I should have said public funding, not tax payer funding. That part was incorrect. A quick Google search of "BSA public funding" will bring up many articles about how the Boy Scouts have stopped using public funding.

  • @GetALifePleaseThanks And my physical appearence has to do with what we are discussing, how?
