  • @ Artistresearcher .. So when you say " Its the dog's bollocks" is that an insult? .. I really dont understand where you are coming from... And your " interpretation" of organs and instinctive deep ideas sounds like a load of "bollocks" to me. So why are you so easily fooled... Maybe "Not Intellectual" has something to do with it. So what do you call art that is not intelligent... It aint art at all!... It's just Bollocks... Sorry that you don't live up to your handle.

  • @Artistresearcher... I agree that this vid is a celebration of the past.. But the internet does not KILL the past. In fact it gives us a glimplse into the past, an example would be this video. And the countless other videos that came before it, that is what the internet is for. It gives us a glimpse into the past. All memory can and will be captured and shown to all it seems. But to judge it and criticize it is another matter. Art is made to be criticized... Period.

  • Thinking about it, the overall theme of Leckey's work seems to be of a visceral nature: 1. Felt in the internal organs of the body. 2. Not intellectual: instinctive, unreasoning. That's not to say there is not deep ideas behind the work just that Leckey seems to be guided primarily by instinct and life experience when making work. As a viewer you don't have to understand it to like it. I may be wrong but that's just my opinion.

  • @hideouschud I thought the opposite - this video seems to be a celebration of the past that the internet is killing off. Go see it at the Manchester City Gallery and you will think differently. Its the dogs bollocks.

  • Not really sure what I've just watched - According to the other comments it's an art piece, but I'm having real trouble working out a year for the footage, or what's going on for the most part. Currently on my third watch through, which would lend credence to the idea that this video does it's job, I guess.

Thoroughly enjoying looking for clues and such though, it's really well put together.

  • @dmfeelings If only you knew about the beautiful British sub culture that came with 'that flappy dance' Look up the Wigan Casino my friend...

  • This is brilliant, great british nostalgia.

  • Europeans are odd...i don't know about that flappy dance

  • This is a Gem. Perfect timing, intriguing, it can have many approaches and invites to watched again.

    best!

  • they have this in the turner contempory at margate. it's my favorite thing there. i like the way anyone over the age of 45 marches out in disgust once it gets to the acid house (the good bits).
