ilya,l am interested at your opinion about bruhn,i never liked him ,very overrated imo,carla instead was lovely silpyd and great giselle,saw her in giselle with volodia ,micha and rudy,imo she deserved such partners,and volodia had strenght enought for 6 giselles togheter,best albrecht ever imo

What I like abut Bruhn is that he has a school.

School in his blood.

In some way, Russian ballet school started from his school.

Iohanson, great ballet teacher in Russia was from that school.

Russians took a lot from there...

But forgot these days.

Marvelous! Fracci is so incredibly light and an impeccable Romantic stylist, while Bruhn is so stylistically pure. Unfortunately, I think many today do not understand just how good Bruhn really was because of a modern general lack of appreciation for anything that is not flashy.

I saw Erik Bruhn dance this live. He was amazing. I'm so glade film exists of Sylphida there is so little film of him dancing.

i understand that the change to and from black and white in the middle of the clip is because this was broadcast the day of a cold war crisis, and they cut in the missing part from a kinescope in black and white.
