Primero, Los Niños

Senator Barack Obama:

El éxito y el bienestar de cada niño americano es mi principal prioridad. Y me presento a las elecciones para presidente del Gobierno porque quisiera que cada niño tuviera las oportunidades que yo tuve.

He visitado muchas escuelas y he hablado con muchos profesores y estudiantes durante mis dos décadas de servicio público, pero una anecdota que recordare siempre es mi visita a la escuela primaria Dodge en Chicago hace algunos años.

Hablaba con una profesora joven allí, y le pregunté cuales eran, en su opinion, los principales desafios a los que se enfrentaban sus estudiantes. Ella me dio una respuesta que nunca había oído antes. Ella habló sobre lo que ella llamó "el sindrome de esos ninos" - la tendencia a justificar los defectos y problemas de nuestro sistema educativo con el argumento "estos niños no pueden aprender" o "estos no desean aprender que" o "estos niños estan demasiado retrasados." Y, al cabo de un tiempo, "estos niños" se convirtieron en el problema de otros.

Y esta profesora me miro y me dijo, "Cuando escucho ese argumento me enfurezco. No son 'esos niños'. Son nuestros ninos. Todos."

Yo estoy de acuerdo.

Creo que cada niño debe tener una misma oportunidad de alcanzar su propio sueno.

Creo que cada decisión en Washington se debe tomar teniendo en cuenta lo que significa para nuestros niños.

Y creo que invirtiendo en nuestros niños nuestra nacion sera mas fuerte en el futuro.

Pero en los ultimos anos hemos tenido una adminstracion que no opina de esta manera. Se han negado a expandir la atencion sanitaria para los niños. Se han negado a invertir en nuestras escuelas. Y han favorecido a los grupos de intereses especiales y a los lobistas que no tienen como prioridad el futuro de nuestros niños.

Cuando sea presidente, esto va a cambiar - pondremos a nuestros niños primero.

Aprobaremos mi "Agenda Primero Los Niños" para niños de hasta cinco anos de edad. Y dejaremos de aprobar leyes llamadas "Que ningun niño se quede detras" porque dejan dinero por el camino. En su lugar, empezaremos a hacer inversiones en educacion, desde la cuna hasta la edad adulta. Los datos demuestran que se puede doblar o incluso triplicar el resultado de nuestras inversiones gracias a la reduccion en los costos del sistema de bienestar y de salud y del crimen, y al aumento de los ingresos. Implicara la contratacion de nuevos profesores, pagarles mejor, y prestarles mas apoyo para que no ensenen solo para aprobar los examenes, sino para aprender. Y significa poner la educacion universitaria al alcance de todos los americanos. Este es el cambio que ofrezco para 2008.

Pero no puedo realizar este cambio yo solo. Por eso necesito el apoyo de todos ustedes. Juntos, nosotros podemos oponernos a los grupos de intereses especiales, reagrupar este pais, y asegurarnos de que tratamos a cada niño de este pais como si fuera uno de nuestros niños.

For our country to flourish, we must prepare our children to thrive. And for someone who doesn't even have children that means all children. Every child.

A society that puts its children's interests first will do everything better. That kind of society has a surer moral footing, less crime, stronger economic growth, a healthier environment, and a greater ability to lead others by example.

Madfaren, Please, do me a favor, do some research on abortion before you come at me with exageration accusations. How the hell do you think they kill the baby? In late-term abortions, as the baby is being born, the murderer's (doctors) pull the legs with one hand push the rod into the base of the baby's head into the brains with the other to suck the brains out. Prior to late term, the other methods are used. If you need pictures or videos, go search abortion on utube. Pay attention this time.

If someone got raped if they are not going to KILL the baby they won't wait till they're 5 months or all the way till the baby's ready 2 be born 2 have an abortion! I'm pro-life.
