I think if she had not been competing against Shawn and Gilles, she might have been able to win. However, because of these three competitors, this was and still is, I think, the best final so far. All three were absolutely fabulous!

She did ballet when she was younger. So did I. Where has it ever been said that she has YEARS of ballet experience?

Of COURSE her experience gives her an advantage over someone like Ty. I never implied otherwise. I simply stated the truth, lots of others have brought experience to the table that gives them an advantage. Lil' Kim and Shawn are both examples, and they too have experience that gives them an advantage over someone like Ty.

PLEASE stop it, you're making me laugh. lol. Most entertainers have an advantage in that they're used to choreography. However, most of them don't have years of ballet training. Trained ballerinas have extensive advantage in that is usually a springboard to learn almost any type of dance. Melissa isn't the first, but it's not advantage over someone like Ty? You KNOW it is.

Her "dance experience" isn't any more than your average person who has to make music videos (Lil' Kim for example). She doesn't have ballroom training and has had to unlearn a lot of what her training as a cheerleader has taught her. Furthermore, a large number of athletes have won. They have a certain inate advantage. There certainly is an argument that she isn't a star. ABC made the offer though. I don't fault her for taking the opportunity.

melissa is a very good dancer but I don't think it is fair that she is on the show at all. First, she is not a star. Second, ABC knows that she would have a huge sympathy vote. Last, she has had dance training! The beauty of the show has been seeing progression of stars who were awkward and lacked training morphing into good dancers. I think it is just not fair.

I think Melissa is a good dancer but she's not really a "star" and so i don't think she deserves to be on the show very much. I mean she hasn't really DONE anything like all the other stars.

Again, it's pretty funny that you are responding to a fat, trailer trash drama queen lover. That really shows what kind of life you have, doesn't it? I really don't see the connection between American Idol and romantic TV fairy tales anyways.
