I love this piece. The teddy bear could represent the remainder of childhood, holding on but abandoned for new experiences. I see the jewels representing new experiences (the desire to look attractive), glamourous at first but ultimately trapping the girl until she becomes a motionless object. Her sexual awakening (shell) comes as a teenagr but eventually the habits she acquires (wearing makeup, dieting) come to destroy her sexuality by loading it with commercialized expectations.

that bear scares me.

Charlie's anima comes out of its shell to merge with his persona.

I love this video, it has such a strange vibe to it. It always makes me feel good to know there are many people out there as strange as me :)

this is art
The bear and stuffed animals represent the girl's childhood innocence and when her skin turns into the diamonds it signifies the state in which our society wants girls to be. The stuffed animals are disturbing but still perfect and innocent, and that's the way they want her to stay. Flawless, inhuman, perfect and completely devoid of sexuality. The shell is also an obvious vaginal reference and I think it represents sexual desire because of how the ooze retraced once she became all bedazzled.

I initially thought that the bear was there for a sexual reference. But reanalyzing it, the bear is actually there to symbolize the remnants of the girl's childhood. Basically, the bear is saying goodbye as more adult desires and needs start to take over her.
