Mega Quake: Scott from Believers Underground | TJA Podcast | Episode #15http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=wEPh0Xx7w3I&playnext_from=TL&videos=qM2DimaxHwE Post-glacial rebound (or Glacial Isostatic Adjustment) produces measurable effects on: (i) Vertical Crustal Motion, (ii) Global sea levels, (iii) Horizontal Crustal Motion, (iv) Gravity field, (v) Earth's rotational motion and (vi) State of stress and earthquakes. Studies of Glacial rebound give us information about the flow law of mantle rocks and also past ice sheet history. The former is important to the study of Mantle Convection, Plate Tectonics and the thermal evolution of the Earth. The latter is important to the study of Glaciology, Paleoclimate and changes in Global Sea Level. Understanding postglacial rebound is also important to our ability to monitor recent global change.
To form the ice sheets of the last Ice Age, water is taken from the oceans through evaporation, condensation as snow and then deposited as ice in high latitudes. Thus global sea level would fall during glaciation.

The ice sheets at the last Glacial Maximum were so massive that global sea level fell by about 120 metres. Thus continental shelves were exposed and many islands became connected with the continents through dry land. This was the case between the British Isles and Europe, or between Taiwan, the Indonesian islands and Asia. Most important is the existence of a land-bridge between Siberia and Alaska that allowed the migration of people and animals during last glacial maximum.[3]

Alternative view: The earths oceans are sinking. Due to this heavy loading of new water into Geo fragile zones. Fault zones. Thus causing sea floor sinking. Just as the other regions of the world are rebounding up. "As stated in this article".[12] thus these islands are not getting flooded by sea level rise, as much as these islands are sinking. The water table adjusts to the area. As earthquakes even out the ocean floor deformation[13]. This will also cause sink holes in areas as the earth has greater storms moving this water around inland which means earthquakes from the new wieght in that area.

The fall in sea level also affects the circulation of ocean currents and thus has important impact on climate during the Ice Age.

During deglaciation, the melted ice water returns to the oceans, thus sea level in the ocean increases again. However, geological records of sea level changes show that the redistribution of the melted ice water is not the same everywhere in the oceans. In other words, depending upon the location, the rise in sea level at a certain site may be more than that at another site. This is due to the gravitational attraction between the mass of the melted water and the other masses, such as remaining ice sheets, glaciers, water masses and mantle rocks[3] and the changes in centrifugal potential due to Earth's variable rotation.[11]
Gravity field
Ice, water and mantle rocks have mass, and as they move around, they exert a gravitational pull of other masses towards them. Thus, the gravity field, which is sensitive to all mass on the surface and within the Earth, will be affected by the redistribution of ice/melted water on the surface of the Earth and the flow of mantle rocks within.

Today, more than 6000 years after the last deglaciation terminated, the flow of mantle material back to the glaciated area causes the overall shape of the Earth to become less oblate. This change in the topography of Earth's surface affects the long wavelength components of the gravity field.

The changing gravity field can be detected by repeated land measurements with Absolute Gravimeters and recently by the GRACE satellite mission.[12] The changing long wavelength components of Earth's gravity field also perturbs the orbital motion of satellites and has been detected by LAGEOS satellite motion.[13]

  • at most, the ice sitting on the pole,as soon as its not pressing on the bottom of the ocean, the rest of the land moves, cause of the ice pole being a stabelizing point, with all the weight there, after its moved off the floor, the floor their pushes up,and the rest of the world moves around, and this is backwards from what your talking about but makes more sence.

  • @imatelly it's like a ice skater with her arms up she spins. if she put's her arms out to her sides she slows down. same with the earth. anyway this is not a cup with ice floating in it. there is no walls holding it place it goes. that's why as this weight goes into geo fragile zones in the ocean it triggers earthquakes. hope that helps. you might wish to look at the science of Post Glacial Rebound Effect more. they don't give USGS validated grant's to people that don't know there stuff. • water can not be compressed, what this means is no matter where the ice is,it is moveing the water under it,so everything spreads out,if its floating in the ocean,or sitting at the pole, nothing changes, its honestly better for the ice to melt, for the same reason you can lay on a bed of nails.you missed alot of stuff, debunked!

  • @imatelly hahahaha. salt makes the water heaver. that's why the ice is pooling off the coast of the UK between Greenland. the earth made a new current for it's self called the NIJ, the scientist call this effect The Wild Card. that ice when it melt's on top of the planet goes to the equator. that's why the earth is expanding 26 miles so far. confirmed my NASA , and the department of the Navy. also sea level fell last year also confirmed by NASA, yet we had a record melt. cont.

  • hey.. ty for being real.. n explaining.. not many would take the time to break it down so others understand.. ive been trying with those i know.. to explain the lil i know and im failing misserably... i tell them.. but they dont wanna believe the horror of it all.. it makes me sad knowing most will die due to this lack of hearing how important this is. And why is everyone trying to find atlantis? that was used to inslave man last time why you think it was destroyed? its evil.

  • @kami243n greed aka self importance. don't you know who I am. it's a false know it all. a negative spirit memememe IIIII memememe. LUVBUG

  • I just dont understand why people can't come together in this day and age in peace for the greater good and work on these global problems . He might be a little like Mr.Garrison or who ever mmkay but the man knows what he is talking about

  • Photosynthesis has metabolised all the additional carbon dioxide into extra life on earth. No effect possible on the weather. No matter how stupid you are.

  • You as well! dhs.

  • Wow....makes sense to me.,...what kind of BB gun do you have?

  • @MrHabs1993 you dont understand why? because evil has kept man at eachothers throats.. we coulda had alot done if we had just done what was right and not what was easy or profitable..

  • @ChorusArtists dear have you not been keeping up? they are sinking now!!! canary islands.. the extra water plus the sinking of plates.. plus the new lands popping up displacing water.. all at once.. we just keep trying new things in hope that something will help but without knowledge and proper caring and thought.. its not going to work.. just not enough room to explain all this but.. its true honey.. only part i dont know is when no man shall know when.. so i wont try.. but id guess soonish..
