A Drive Down Mt Scott, Wichita Mountains Oklahoma

This downhill video of Mt. Scott allows viewing the surrounding mountains and prairie, instead of just the road. The video starts looking west towards "Mt. Sheridan" and concludes facing south towards highway 49, at the Mt. Scott Overlook Turnoff. At 4:49, you can see live artillery impacting from nearby Ft. Sill.

The "Mt. Scott" summit road was constructed by the CCC during the 1930's. My great grandfather, John Hall (Meers, Oklahoma) was a member of this crew. This video is a tribute to his work.

The Wichita Mountain Wildlife refuge is home to free range buffalo, Long Horn, Elk, Deer, and many other animals. Much of this refuge is easily observable by car. Driving down is fun, but driving up can being a little scary since you in the outside lane. The Wichita Mountains are awesome. Can't wait til my next time to go there. Thanks for posting.
