@OBrienGuitars It works fine. At the Guild of American Luthier's convention this year, Jim Hamm did a seminar on his vacuum lamination using hide glue. He also did a talk on why hide glue is the superior glue for nearly every lutherie application and how assembly/disassembly can be simplified and accelerated using a steam gun (he did a demo on a cello top, attaching it with hide glue in under two minutes, total time, single-handedly).

great! i am a student at newark guitar making school, and we have the anual guitar race...the challenge of making a classical in 24 hours using no power tools! there are about 5 in a team though. great fun!

Yellow glue was used. I have never used hide glue with a vacuum so I don't know about any issues associated with hide glue and a vacuum.
