Congressman John Boehner (OH-8) today demanded that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) hold a vote on the American Energy Act.

BOEHNER: I do think we have the votes in both the House and the Senate. But it is Speaker Pelosi, it's Harry Reid, it's Barack Obama who want no part of allowing the Congress to work its will on a vote that would produce more American-made oil and gas.

  • "cap and trade "everyone in every state must find out who voted for the bill and do everything you can to get them voted out of office !!!! same goes with the bailouts, and stimulus bill must vote them all out dems and rep alike , if they vote yes we vote them out !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good reason to vote yes on cap and trade !! duh !!!!!

  • When exactly did Boehner make the transformation into a slice of carrot cake?

  • Nancy Pelosi is wrong for America. I don't know who she thinks she is but America needs someone on the side of America and the needs of the American people. As speaker of the house her intentions show more for supporting the U.N. than the American people.

  • Republican Leader John Boehner told The Washington Post that he knew of "contact" between Foley and Congressional pages in the spring, but was unaware of their nature or content. Boehner maintains that he believes he informed Speaker Dennis Hastert, and that Hastert assured him it had been "taken care of." Boehner says that he was unaware of Foley's e-mails and instant messages until the messages were released to ABC News and other sources.

  • Someone please tell me If the reason for drilling is so we will be energy independent, then why wont the republicans support a Dem bill to require all oil drilled on US land or our coast come strait to the U.S. Currently it goes to other countries thats why the pipeline goes from the rigs to the sea port not come down to the US. And also a basic rule of economics is that supply and demand control the price. Well there is no shortage and the facts are China isn't buying much more than last year.

  • Ok but isnt it just as stupid to pay yearly fees for 60 million acres that don't have oil under it. You like facts. Here's some: Republicans have refused to support the creation of a law that would require all American drilled oil to only come to the US. They don't want control oil companies. Fact: Most of the oil coming out of Alaska goes to Japan and other parts of Asia. Fact: All oil drilled goes on the international market. Why would drilling bring down the price there is no shortage.

  • You're a idiot. If the oil companies found oil on those "60 million acres" they would be pumping it out by now. Your bitch pelosi decided to take a 5 week vacation instead of debating about how to lower the price of gas.I would also love to see where you got your info from your idiotic post you dumb bitch.

  • Good point. I'll start filling up my car with "hope" and "change."

  • if the Majority of American KNEW what it this really meant they wouldn't support it. What is the point of giving multi-national oil companies more AMERICAN land to drill on when they have 60 plus million acres already ready for them to drill on? I'm confused as to who this is really for, certainly not the American people. They don't even have the refining capacity to support more oil drilling. It's funny after McMoney endorsed this CRAP his campaign was flooded by cash from oil interests.
