Crowd: M-O-S-L-E-Y MOSLEY!

Sir Oswald: Ladies and gentlemen, this great audience is gathered tonight, filling the largest hall in Great Britain to hear the creed of the post war world and a policy which Great Britain has sought ever since the war. It is a policy in accord with the new economic facts of the modern age, and a policy more than that, in accord with the spiritual urge of the post war period; the urge to build a Britain worthy of the sacrifice our generation made

Every one of these incidents toward which our attention has forever been drawn, are those in foreign countries from the fact that collapse and disaster was overwhelming the nation before the nation made up it's mid to take action -- and when you've got chaos in national affairs and you have to restore order in the shortest possible time, it is then that repressions of liberty, repressions of the press, and all the things that are alien to the British character are liable to arise. And therefore the way in which we can avoid these things is to convince and convert as we are doing, the mass of the British people to move into the new civilization of their own accord.

I feel you resent, and i resent, This idea bridged by our old politicians, that the Englishmen is a lazy incompetent fellow who is prepared to go on asleep in the methods of the past when every other nation in the world is waking up. I resent that charge because it is a travesty and a lie upon the whole of British history and the whole of the British character!

Sir Oswald: The empire wasn't built by men who in past years smoked pipes while millions of their countrymen died! The empire was not built by the Baldwins of this earth, it was built by the Drakes, the Raleighs, and the Clydes.

It was built by men who in dark days of England and of English empire, set out on storm tossed seas, through the torrid heats o jungles, carrying the English flag to the furthest corners of the earth, Through hardship, sacrifice, ordeal, to triumph!

Sir Oswald: Those were the men who built the British Empire and their spirit recaptured in the rapture of sacrifice in the blackshirt movement, that spirit and that spirit alone will lift England from the velocity of decay to the achievements of the future

We know now the vital part dies out of Races and of nations when it is the end, not by a little but for all time. And again and again in the long story of the human race -- races have struggled up to nations, and nations up to mighty empires, and scaled the heights of history, and thought they were safe, only to lift up the flame of conscience for ages. This movement rises from he very soul of England! To give all, To dare all, That England may live in greatness and in glory!
