  • can yo please help me to set this remote to operate a my tv??? do i need a code or what are the steps to take so that this remote turns tv on and off

  • Yes, I hope so. I suggest you visit our RCAav website, then go to the "Converter Boxes" section of the website, and and then download the DTA800B1 Instruction Book and the DTA800B1 Remote Codes Sheet. The Remote Codes Sheet has a comprehensive list of 3-digit codes used for programming the Remote to operate with a very broad range of TV's in use today. Page 6 of the instruction book will specifically show you how to program the remote for a particular brand of TV.

  • Do not buy this box ppl! its a piece of junk. it works fine for a while but when u go to re-scan for new channels, it only goes to 50% and with no way to manually program your channels, yer stuck with whatever the box decides to give you.

  • First, let me note that your experience is not typical, the level of customer satisfaction on this product has been extremely high.

I recommend you contact our Customer Support, or perhaps first try the following

    a) scan again - the ATSC broadcast spec is quite complex, many TV stations are "fine-tuning" their broadcast parameters to meet spec. You may find the problem has since been resolved through TV changing their broadcast parameters.

    (continued on next response):

  • b) If scan is still "stuck at 50%" - momentarily disconnect the antenna. I expect the converter box will then resume and finish the scan.

    (continued on next response):

  • Regarding your comment on "manually programming" the converter box - we opted to make the User Experience as simple as we would. The product will scan all stations that have signals strong enough for adequate reception. You also have two scan modes' - "fresh scan", and "scan, but add to exisitng channels" - thus the two modes should allow you to achieve whatever results you'd like to use a "manual program" for.

    I hope this helps!

  • my cb green light keep constantly blinking not picture no menu no sound nothing unless I press 4 or 6 its gives me this three color test screen. or if i press 8 it gives me this list full of names and numbers such state and it late or unmuted and has list of numbers that continue to count up. Please tell me how to fix this issue. thanks in advance.

  • y me 2 i have one but i dont no how to use the dvr remote to turn on the tv

  • Thanks for your comment, jimcrich. The product should, when powered up for the first time, automatically bring up the setup menu (no need to press MENU), which will guide the user through the setup experience (including Channel Scan). My guess is that this product had already been previously set up, and thus the Setup menu didnt automatically appear (it would be annoying if it always appeared). As you noted, MENU allows user to access the menus and install or re-configure the product.

  • Were sorry to hear your setup experience wasnt ideal. One of the goals of this video is to direct users to our RCAav website where theyll find more detailed help on our FAQ page, and can also download the Instruction Book or Quick Start Guide, if needed. Ill respond to the Channel Scan and Menu Button issue in separate response.
