Being a ten years older than me, you really were of age to experience everything that was going on in the sixties and participate. It is great hearing that you wrote for Rolling Stone and interviewed many of the greats besides touring with the Mick and the Stones. That must have been a great experience. One of our local newscasters toured with the Beatles and wrote a book about it. You have great memories of the greats in the music business as well as all those who protested.

Nice video. Have you ever interviewed Jim Morrison? What was your interview like with him? I'm a huge fan of him. (smiles)
Dear Ring King--Thanks for commenting. Yes, I interviewed Jim Morrison, at the LA Forum before a big concert in early 1969. You can find it in my book, Flashbacks, published by Routledge. You can find it on Amazon and similar sites.

I have to agree, I want to hear more about Hendrix, I know he was a gentle, perceptive, with his own demented twists about life. Please share that with us!
What a fulfilling life you have had!!

I interviewed Jimi Hendrix once when he was appearing at the old Fillmore in San Francisco in 1968. A gentle man, serious and thoughtful. I also sensed that he was lonely and troubled. He loved music, had a good sense of humor, and was modest (yet also proud) of his ability. He seemed like he would be a good friend--I liked him very much. My interview appeared in the NY TImes Feb 25, 1968.
