  • Honestly, the guy is explaining technique well and shows it just fine for the purposes of a gym workout - bear in mind he is not an oarsman and the people he is teaching will never get in a racing shell. If most gym rowers had even this level of technique they would get FAR more out of the ergo, more power to his elbow I say.

  • Just started rowing this week. Great video on basic form and what mistakes to avoid. Also appreciate comments from rowguycuyahoga here that help clarify form further. Thanks Brian; good job.

  • This gentlemen is clearly not a rower himself. He opens up his back too soon, and is sitting too far back on his butt. Beginners should start with lower damper settings because its just like going too hard with free weights: you could get hurt. Too high of a setting plus bad technique equals back problems. He also has his footstretchers too high for his feet. NEVER leave your handle in the holster...it warps the chain and quickly ruins a perfectly good machine.

  • the concept 2 is the best exercise u can get. It gets major muscle groups stronger while improving your endurance. It copies the same workout a roman or carthaginian rower on a war boat would have gotten, and those guys were pretty massive!

  • If used correctly the concept 2 will give great gains for both cardio and strength - but check out other videos for technique advice as many bad pointers here.

  • erg is great for cardio and endurance training, also makes you sweat HARD
