I have no experience with cr500's but i can tell you my 02 cr250 had 180 psi on a piston with the top ring siezed has 230psi with a new piston and rings. My friends 99 cr250 has 230psi also on a fresh top end. I have always kicked them with the air filter off and throttle wide hopen until the dial stops rasing. Someone correct me if im wrong
