PHASE 4 - "Images vs XIII"

PHASE 4 - DESCRIPTION

Explanation:
I chose option 1A for my Phase 4- where I take an image and send it to different people and they take the image and edit it as they see fit.

Descriptions:
vI - This is the initial image with the CG render of Noctis

vII - I made the first change of the image, I added Noctis' name in the upper right corner in a faded grey colour

vIII - I gave this to my high school friend Raymond. He increased the brightness of the image, letting all the features of Noctis stand out a little more. He told me that he wanted to add more, such as a lens-flare, but he thought he was doing too much and that someone else might want to add the effect.

vIV - I then took the image that Ray created and handed it to another high school friend of mine, Danny. He mimicked Raymond in a way, by increasing the image brightness, but also changing the text of Noctis' name, and edited his eye.

vV - I then took that image that Danny edited and gave it to a university friend, Prina. She was having a hard time deciding what to edit, so I asked her to somehow incorporate the number XIII in its Roman numeral form. She added the number XIII as a tattoo under his right eye, and gave him two small silver earrings.

vVI - I then handed Prinas edit to Monit, another university friend. He made a pretty simple change; he added a lens flare on the sword.

vVII - I then took Monits edit and gave it to a university friend who I know from high school, Kevin. Kevin made a gradient in the top right corner with white and grey, and then added black brushstrokes that merged the background with the gradient.

vVIII - Then I gave the image to another high school friend, Steven. With his new-found ability with photoshop, he added little white lights along the black brushstrokes that Kevin made.

vIX - Then, I gave the new image to another university friend, Kiyo. What she did was give Noctis a small tattoo of a pair of black wings, a blue eye, and a black wing. Though, the wing covered Noctis name, making it only somewhat visible.

vX The next person in line was another university friend, Ian. He took Stevens white lights and gave them trails, showing the illusion of movement. He also added shading to Noctis neck and up, also making his lips pinker.

vXI - I was running low on people, so I asked Jason in my FACS 2930 class to help me out. I didnt know his ability with photoshop, but something told me that hed continue the overall trend, and stick to the dark, serious mood of the image. I thought it was a kind of gamble, not knowing his ability. What he did was he took the lens flare and lessened it. He also gave the sword a more chrome-like look to it.

vXII The final person I sent my image to was another high school friend whose artistic ability I look up to, My. What she did was she took lyrics from a song in the video game trailer FOR Final Fantasy versus XIII and wrote them on the page in its original language, Latin, and translated into English. She also added other words that had to do with Noctis in general (she knows this game and shes seen the trailers, so that helped a lot, XD).

vXIII - I made the final change to my image. What I did was this; I printed this other picture of Noctis I found on Google, scanned it back to my computer, and added it to the background, but only keeping Noctis face. I also wanted his name to show up (since it was practically invisible), so I altered his name and made it bigger. I also wanted the number XIII to show up more, so I put XIII in the lower right corner, thus completing the final image.

Music Explanation:

I chose this song to play in the background because it's the main song for the game Final Fantasy versus XIII (to date) and the Latin lyrics tie into the 12th image AKA vXII, and I think that it adds onto the "dark" atmosphere that thiis assignment revolves around

Video Explanation:
I decided to showcase my 13 images as a video because I personally think it's more convenient to watch something as opposed to looking at all the images separately; opening them one by one, and what not. As a video, it's simpler, and it doesn't stray away from the point.
