This is when we went to the Thursford Collection in Norfolk on 23rd July 2007. This is the fantastic Robert Wolfe, playing on the wurlitzer; a truly beautiful sounding instrument. Enjoy!

  • There needs to be more videos of Robert on here, hes a LEGEND!

  • @3dwurli Agreed. He is a legend in his own right. Definitely raw talent. I'd love to be able to play a Wurlitzer but I bet its very hard!! Thanks for your comments. Sadly I didn't get anymore Wurlitzer footage of Robert, however I do have a couple of videos of the guy playing the Wurlitzer at Blackpool Tower ballroom so please feel free to have a look if you want :)

  • I WAS AT thURSFORD BACK IN 1997 TO HEAR rOBERT wOLFE. gLAD TO KNOW HE IS STILL THERE. hE USED TO COME TO THE

uS AND WE HEARD HIM PLAY IN bUFFALO FOR MANY YEARS BACK IN THE '80'S. hIS tIGER rAG IS PHENOMINAL!

  • Nice to hear- and see Robert Wolfe on the Thursford Wurlitzer. Listening to him play we can detect a strong hint of Blackpool. This has to be a touch of the style he picked up from the experience he had as a teenager, when for a few years he was one of the team of organists at the Tower Ballroom.

  • My husband and I went to Robert Wolfe concerts at the Riviera in N. Tonawanda,NY from 1982 until around 1995 and then I did see him at Thursford in 1997. Sadly, he doesn't come here any more, but he is a fantastic artist. no one plays faster!

  • I've been Thursford during its spring/summer season twice and I enjoyed listening to & watching Robert play the Wurlitzer and I've quite a few of his CD's and 3 of his videos and 1 of his DVD's.

  • Couldn't agree more, it's great to see Robert here on Youtube finally!

The "Wolfe" style takes the Blackpool sound and sends it skyrocketing! I've been lucky enough to meet Robert a few times and I have also studied the "blackpool style". He has such a natural talent, is a superb organist and I hope he stays resident at Thursford for many more years to come!
