I'm sure quite a lot of people will recognize this minigame. It was one of the few minigames featured in the Mario Party 8 commercials almost two years ago.

Again, teamwork is the key! The controls for the game may be simple, but you have to work together so you don't end up going in circles. If one person is rowing just a little bit faster than the other person, the boat will start veering off in the opposite direction.

Luckily there was hardly any obstacles this time around, but if you take note of Peach's oar at 0:38, see how the oar sort of got stuck for a second there, and she sorta bounced off the twig? That's another thing you gotta watch out for. Usually what will happen is, if you get really stuck, the person stuck will flail about with their oar trying to get unstuck, while the other player has to sit there and wait, otherwise they'll just drive them even further into the obstacle. But then usually by the time you've freed yourself, the boat is turned backwards, away from the island, due to only one person rowing, causing you to go in a semi-circle.
