March 21, 2009 -- This is Bud McKay, driver of the West Sound Electric Presents GEICO of Lakewood hydroplane, going through his required capsule training for the start of the 2009 season. Once you're first in, they spin you around to ensure your air mask is sealed. Once you give them the thumbs up, they'll spin you around twice, at least that's what they tell you, and then stop so you're upside down in the water. You have to unbuckle the 5-point harness (seat belt), remove the steering wheel, open the hatch and then swim away. I take this serious because when I flipped my boat in 2008, I couldn't get out of the boat.
And that's how capsule training should go!
