  • Celtic blood of the ancients projected to the year 3000.

A vibe of heart and intelligence.

One of the few guitarists capable of delivering pure emotion on DADGAD (mastering it), in a time of often boring random tappers.

  • a brilliant piece of work here by John. Fascinating stuff.

  • as ever john's mesmerising touch and deftness make it look so fluid but simple it is not!! How one creates an arrangement like this is mind boggling. I am speaking as someone who has written tunes and songs but how does one achieve beauty and subtlety like this? JR is a maestro. I must get my name down on his Andalucia guitar workshop . . . and get closer to the magic

  • I can sort of play like this...to sing as well would tax me dearly....being a non-singer, I sometimes wonder why words mess up good guitarring. It's always something about a lost love or an escaped favourite sheep. Both if it was a Welsh tune I suppose.I play mostly in DADF#AD,tuned down a semi with the capo on the 2nd fret to get up to concert pitch....leaves the strings slack enough for my wussy fingers to bend and slur the notes a tad without bloodshed.Just a hint...try it

  • Brilliant guitarist! I arranged a guitar workshop with him in Stockport. He was great...more so because he didn't sing ha ha! Really nice guy and played some amazing tunes.

  • He is amazing, such little effort yet he produces a picture of the trail down the western isles that is as vivid as being there... even with his poor singing lol. still great though!

  • The master of the acoustic guitar.

  • In 1967 a friend loaned me 'Another Monday' by JR when I was only into rock and Tamla Motown. It was my introduction to acoustic guitar and I have been hooked ever since. This reminds me of that first encounter - mesmerising - made the hairs on my neck lift.

  • Learning the tune is one thing. Getting your fingers to dance on the strings like him is quite another.Breathtaking fluidity

  • Vibrations of this song touch the shadow of the Absolute!
