  • @mark05201 pyruvate first enters the mitochondrial matrix via active transport with the help of a transport protein. It then undergoes oxidative decarboxylation in the mitochondrial matrix to form acetyl-CoA. So actually, the animation is right.

  • at first the animation was wrong,,,,the pyruvate cannot directly enter mitochondria...it must be converted to acetyl coA first....
