Error Nr. 1045
Access denied for user 'root'@localhost'(using password:yes
If a personal firewall is running on your machine, plaease make sure you have opened the TCP port 3306 for connections.
If you are re-installing after you just uninstalled the MySQL server please please note that the data diectory was not removed automatically. Therefore the old password from your last installation is still needed to connect to the server. in this case please select skip now

@lovingkorvs What new tutorial? This one should work just fine since I recently installed the latest version and it was the same procedure. If you're having problems, visit the forums at forum[dot]myownserver[dot]info and post your issue there.

If you didn't set one during setup, then there isn't a password for ROOT user. You should've set one as I do in this video during the setup though.

If you have already installed MySQL Server and haven't completely removed it prior to following this tutorial, you will get this error. I recommend visiting my forums, which you can find by following the link in this tutorial's description, and posting a message detailing how you're getting this error and I can better assist you there.
