I'm a community Warden for Perth in Scotland. And i'll let you know something. Our wages aren't paid from money the council get from taxes. We get a set budget. And secondly, not a waste of time. We do a lot more than you think. And we change a lot of things and help solve a lot of problems. People trust us and feel they are able to speak to us, whereas it can be the complete opposite with the Police.
Community Wardens - a complete exercise in futility !

Um yeh, of course... a group of people who cost nothing is a waste of money (street wardens are usually volunteers)
