Nice ad. 0:50 onwards seems to be copied from the diving sequence from Leni Riefenstahl's Olympia.

Absolutely superb ad. This would make Ned smile. "Here's to sugar on the strawberries!"

@christoph404 Yes, it's a classic Cheever story. He grew up in CT and based much of the story on his neighbors.

@YouMeandFresnoBob Sorry to burst the bubble. It's not an indictment of capitalism, but rather materialism.

@christoph404 The Swimmer is a great film - unusual to find anyone else who has seen it. But it is quite disturbing and very odd - definitely not a film that would be made now and certainly not starring someone like Burt Lancaster. I love it - it's a creepy indictment of the rat race and capitalism.

The greatest advert ever made - a work of art, every scene is stunning. Brilliant. Second place to the Christian Dior Fahrenheit advert from the late 80s.

If you like this ad you will also like the original film on which the ad is based, its called "The Swimmer" from 1968 , directed by Frank Perry, and stars Burt Lancaster as a washed up executive who has lost grip on reality and decides to "swim" home via the pools of all his former New England neighbours, the visual iconography is identical and some of the shots in the ad are lifted straight from this surreal feature film, I'd recommend it.
