  • I just cot one of these the other day 10/05/2010 love this radio as well, great battery life.

  • @AustinPetDetective

I cant stress enough to make sure you completely discharge the battery before putting it on the charger. It will fail very early if you dont. Trust me, I learned that the hard way!

  • @drice1987

Thanks for that info about the battery, it seems hard to believe because I thought the Nickel Metal Hydr batterys do not suffer memory problems like the old Nicads did ?.

  • @AustinPetDetective

Not sure if it is considered a memory problem or not but it is very important for these to be charged correctly. Lithium Ion batteries are the best way to go, as they do not suffer from charging at random times...

  • my dad and i are sharing an ft-60, so im curious what frequencey are you listening to here

  • How did u do that y can email me with how u did that look up my call sing kc9qpv on qrz and u will find my email

  • please detail how you did this. I just bought one.

  • @drice1987

how about a 6 step? On its RX side. Like 483.29375? The new public safety agreement to move all agency to a 6 channel step by january 2013. Its already began here in NYC.

  • I believe so. If I tune the radio to any frequency (for example) 462.650mhz or 462.6625mhz, then go the the menu and select "Wide/Narrow" I can change it to either option. When set to narrow, the audio becomes a little more louder. I am not too familiar with what narrowband is and how it works and why, but know there is an option for it.

  • does it do narrow band on its RX side?

i wish to buy one once i recieve my ham ticket. you think you can do a reveiw on it or something?
